Restriction in factory firmware v. 2.2.5

Post by skl256 » Sat Jun 19, 2021 3:48 am

I have a Baofeng 1801 (as far as I know, there are two hardware versions, I have a 2 MB version - 32CH / Zone, 150 zones and 3000 total channels). The problem is that my radio has software version 2.2.5 installed from the factory. In this version of the software, the "Privacy" function does not work (when turned on, it has no effect, as far as I was able to find information on the Internet, this is a bug (or a feature) of this software version). How can you get around this limitation? It is impossible to simply install software version 2.1.9 directly, the radio station does not work with it (the message "low bt version" when loading, as I understand this software for another hardware version, older). Help me please. Thanks in advance! And sorry for not good english ;)

Something is not clear. Did you noticed this forum is all about the OpenGD77 firmware ?

Cheers.

Yes, I understand that the forum is about OpenGD firmware. But, the topic is devoted to the features of the radio station 1801, I believe that someone can answer my question. I have been looking for an answer for a very long time and still could not find it.

######## encryption is not allowed in every country (please note) ########

it is only possible with this firmware (it is best to always set the transmission power to high to avoid errors

http://www.radioscanner.ru/files/baofeng/file21760/

Version : BF-1801_V2.2.8

DM-1801, firmware 2.2.8 (encryption works) and a program for uploading firmware in English

With a strong transmission power, for example 5 watts, everything works fine (I have not tested lower) :D

2 more download links

or :

#### after the update to the new firmware ####

it still has to be changed from chinese to english (language)

Thank you very much, in the next free days I will try to flash it.
And tell me, what problems can theoretically be at low power? What to look for when checking?

there are few problems everything depends on the transmission power, whether it is properly encoded or not

The further you move away, the higher the transmission power should be in order to decrypt cleanly

The radio needs a strong clean signal to transmit and receive 100% (if the encryption is activated) is probably due to the cpu from 1801?
