GD-77 usb conn issue win11

OK. Here to beat the deceased equine again.
Running WIN11 Pro 23H2 Build 22631.3296 installed 4/2023
Running CPS 3.1.9 Radioddity
Radioddity cable
Getting "device not found" error box after trying to read radio
On powerup a Com3 appears in Com Ports
I thought you could specify a com port in CPS but then again all CPS programs........
When i displkay firmware in setting on radio it displays this

Radio Info screen on radio only gives Batt V and temp? The CPS version isnt displayed on startup or anywhere else I can find.
This worked before because the firmware date of 1/19/21 is the last time i updated the codeplug.
Any ideas? Probably something stupid.
