Hello I have communication problem with my opengd77 codeplug and firmware
on device manager it tells that opengd77 com4 is active.
Firmware on my radio is OpenGD77. Built 13:17:08. Jan 19 2021 b7ed21e
with codeplug version I have to use to get connection with my radio
I think use of no correct codeplug version for communication error

2 year old firmware ?
I recommend you first update to the latest firmware beta release and the latest CPS
Firmware update uses a HID device and does not need a driver

Some people says that in firmware info b7ed21e tells a communication problem.

I download file opengd77.bin
then in opengd77 cps version R2023.01.24.01 firmware loader use select file & update that file
in that window in progress Error can't connect to the GD-77
no more actions happend

If you are trying to load new firmware you must put the radio into bootloader mode.
Hold down the top two side keys when turning on the radio.

As Roger has previously said your firmware is a very old Beta version. The files for this are no longer available.
We recommend that you update to the latest firmware and CPS versions.

I've tried downloading and reinstalling the CPS yet it doesn't come up with any com ports to connect to. This has happened on two computers so far and I suspect a driver issue, so how do I come up with a com port?
Okay, there's a surprise. Just opened the CPS, happened to click on the firmware loader under Extras (my GD77 was already selected in the options) and lo and behold I can now access the radio, no annoying com-port-missing messages. Solved..... (until it goes down next time!)
