The GD77 RF design doesn't perform well when using an external antenna. It is very easy to overload the receiver. Especially on VHF. That's sounds like what you are hearing.
There is probably a very strong signal on another frequency.
The only way to fix this is to use an external bandpass filter or an attenuator to reduce the signal level. However this will also reduce the wanted signal.
