I'm glad the project continues - many thanks :)

Translation Update 4.7: Add Scan on Boot

@Daniel or Roger: please check the encoding of my file - I changed my OS to Linux and use now Notepadqq instead of Notepad++
Fantastic.

Thankyou.

Edit.

BTW. I have used NotePad++ on Linux using Wine and it seemed to work OK

Well, the encoding is perfectly fine, but the .scan_on_boot translation is too long, as adding ":Aus" or ":Ein" won't fit (1 character too long, both).

Cheers.

Thanks Daniel. Is it possible to use the @-character in the translation file? Otherwise it's difficult for me to find a shorter equivalent..

I've discussed with Daniel, that in the next release, or when any new texts are added in future, we may try to pad the text with spaces or perhaps dots "." so that all texts in the firmware binary are padded to the maximum length for the text.

Because now that the firmware is no longer encrypted, it would be possible for anyone to edit the text characters directly in the firmware file.

But because of the way the C compiler and linker save space in the firmware file, you can't insert extra characters into the text even if the current text is not the maximum length.

But you could replace the dots or spaces with your own text using a hex editor, and then upload the new file to the radio and immediatly see your changes.

I have directly emailed the othe translators, except I can't find the contact details for ON7LDS, as they are not on QRZ and the Solevian translator is not listed in the file, so I don't know who that is.

Hopefully all the other remaining translators will reply to my email, assuming its not blocked as spam
