Multiple install Satellite keps corrupts radio operation
Multiple install Satellite keps corrupts radio operation
I am using the lastest CPS (09.21) and firmware (09.15) on a GD-77. Suspend mode is ON.
I install the satellite keps. All is good, i.e both satellite and regular radio operation is good.
now I reload sat keps again (still in suspend mode) and the radio stops working correctly, ie. zone selection gives me ?6, buttons don't work.
BUT now if I do a real (sk2+OFF) Pwr OFF, and turn back on, all is ok.
Something appears to be getting corrupt with multiple installs of keps without a real power off.

Re: Multiple install Satellite keps corrupts radio operation
Are you telling us your uploading stuff to the radio when it's suspended ?
Cheers.

Re: Multiple install Satellite keps corrupts radio operation
no I am not. The GD77 is Powered on when I install the satellite keps.
With SUSPEND mode set on, when you turn the radio off, it is in suspend mode.
everything I am doing is with the radio powered on. I hope that answers your question.

Hi,
Okay. I will try to replicate.

Re: Multiple install Satellite keps corrupts radio operation
I just tried, and it works.
Question, does the codplug in your CPS is synced with the one in your GD ?
Read it from the radio, save it (this way the CPS will reload it when it starts), then flash again the keps.
You can continue testing, exiting/relaunching the CPS and flash new keps.
Cheers.

Re: Multiple install Satellite keps corrupts radio operation
Daniel, I just "synced" the Codeplug i.e read it , saved it, restarted CPS wrote it.
Then 'Installed Satellite keps" then flipped between regular radio mode and satellite mode, and again "installed Satellite Keps" , and now the GD-77 does not function correctly. Then if I power it off (SK2+POWER OFF) and power on, all is ok.

Hmmmm,
When you're updating the keps, are you in the satellite screen ?
Cheers.

Re: Multiple install Satellite keps corrupts radio operation
seems to me it doesn't make a difference if in satellite screen or not. During my last exercise I think I not in the satellite mode. Note that in Options/General Radio, I have Suspend On. It seems if you 'install satellite keps" multiple times, without a real power off, the radio operation goes bad.
Re: Multiple install Satellite keps corrupts radio operation
Okay, I will keep trying.
Re: Multiple install Satellite keps corrupts radio operation
BTW, Suspend has no impact here, as the radio never reboot when updating the Keps.
Could you test this:
- power off (for real, SK2+...)
- power on,
- without entering the sat menu, update the keps (once or multiple times) and tell me if the problem still appear ?.
Cheers.
