The patched bootloaders can be downloaded from here ( this site )

Once the patched bootloader has been 'flashed' using a hardware programmer dongle, like a JLink, the OpenGD77 can be installed in the usual way.
However the official firmware will not run, because it also has the same, stupid, protection system, which prevented the bootloader working correctly.
If anyone really needs to run the official firmware again after the official firmware has erased its own protection data, I think I may have an old version of the firmware which I patched to remove the protection check, but because I no longer use the official firmware I do not waste my time , patching every single version that gets released by Radioddity
