just found i can't run hte latest cps on my old vista laptop that i use for programming radios. nothing after build 20200414 will install and run, the very latest installs but when opened says it has stopped working, sometimes when trying to install i get this is not a win32 application
i have to add that this is not a major problem as i can use a win 10 laptop so no stress if theres not a simple solution

The CPS is a Windows .Net application.
It relies on the .Net infrastructure in Windows. specifically .Net 4.x
I Don't know if that infrastructure can be installed into Vista.
This is the same as the official CPS which the OpenGD77 is ultimately derived from
Did you try installing .Net ?

hi Roger, quick update .net works ok on vista but all updates after 2020.11.08 wont install saying that they are not a valid win 32 aplication, i know they all work on win 10

OK.
I had to update the version of .Net the CPS uses because the SSL / SSH had compatibility with some servers which the CPS downloads from
Its a shame that Microsoft don't support their old OS, but thry only make money selling new OSs and harvesting personal data
