Re: Latest WIN10 update version 2014
Has anyone been able to get the comm driver to load on the new windows build? These "Github" links are obviously no longer valid... I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the newest R2021.08.05.01. with no luck. The radio reads just fine except when trying to update firmware, it no longer shows up as a comm port.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

The Bat file and the generic driver installer exe are here
https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/ ... CommDriver
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/roger ... driver.bat
https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/ ... simple.exe
The bat runs the generic serial port driver and sets the device ID of the radio.
The official firmware doesn't use its own drivers, it masquerades as some sort of generic human interface device, and uses a generic Windows driver that Windows always includes
Re: Latest WIN10 update version 2014
I've just uploaded the com port installer as a separate zip file
https://www.opengd77.com/downloads/CPS/ ... tallation/
People should not normally need this, because the com port installation is built into the CPS installer
But for those who have problems and want the original files, the zip is now available
Note. I don't think it will fix the Windows 11 problem, because this is probably some enhanced security feature in Windows 11, that perhaps can't be overridden

I have the same problem on Windows 10 64bit not recognizing I use the original cable, I installed AIDA64 and got the ID of the drive I installed the drive error disappeared but the COM port does not appear .. the problem is not the cable because I updated Baofeng for it.

Microsoft Windows 11 will nw only load drivers for commercial products.elite22 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 12:29 pmI have the same problem on Windows 10 64bit not recognizing I use the original cable, I installed AIDA64 and got the ID of the drive I installed the drive error disappeared but the COM port does not appear .. the problem is not the cable because I updated Baofeng for it.
However my understanding is that the radio is recognised as an generic serial com port.
I do not use Windows 11,and will not be using it, because there is no valid reason to change from Windows 10

Windows 11 works but don't install Com port it's like connecting a cell phone automatically recognizes I just set up the radio bought the cable but didn't recognize it opened the radio did a cleaning on the board leftover loose folder cleaned recognized the old cable get to update the radio open gd-77

Re: Latest WIN10 update version 2014
The same cable can't be compatible for both the Radioddity GD-77 and the Baofeng RD-5R or DM-1801 as they have reversed the data pinouts. This has been discussed on this board.elite22 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 12:29 pmI have the same problem on Windows 10 64bit not recognizing I use the original cable, I installed AIDA64 and got the ID of the drive I installed the drive error disappeared but the COM port does not appear .. the problem is not the cable because I updated Baofeng for it.
So if you are saying your cable works on the Baofeng (meaning one of the Baofeng branded DMR HTs), then it can't be working on the GD-77.
If your cable works on Baofeng analog radio, then it is also incompatible with the GD-77.
When you said the OS didn't recognize your cable, it made me think that you are using a cable for analog radios. This is because the cable for analog radios has a converter chip in it and thus, can be "recognized" by the computer. The cable for DMR radios has no active components, and thus, when you plug it in the USB port, it does not get "recognized" (not until you have the radio attached).
