MD2017 P2 Long press DMR

Post by EA3BIL » Sat Feb 03, 2024 2:40 pm

It looks to work properly with all functions, just a little mistake that came across...

P2 long press equals SK2 + P2, this is increase RF power, instead of NOTHING as DM1801 and GD77 behave.
P1 long press does nothing (same as DM1801 and GD77)

(Maybe it can be useful to have TG scrolling P1/P2 -Left/Right-, long pressing at DMR)

;)

I will check this, because the MD2017 version uses the same UI as the DM1701, and no one with that radio reported this

Tested on the RT-82:
Long P2 increase power for me too ( up to +W-) , but only in Channel mode, nothing happen in VFO mode.

Works OK for me on the VFO screen.

Long Press SK2 + P2 on both MD-2017 and DM-1701

VFO behaves correctly...

When in Channel mode does not.
Please, have a look to the video...

I think its a mistake in the code that long press P2 is increasing the power.
Long press of P1 does not decrease the power

I'm not sure why the firmware is doing this on the STM32 radios which have a Right button. The GD-77 and similar radios do not increase power on Long press of Right

Power increase should AFIK only be via SK2 + Right

This is why I was so surprised... Not GD77 nor DM1801 do.
