VFO / MR switching TG setting error (in DMR mode)

Post by Fecskebeka » Tue Jun 22, 2021 9:32 pm

11:03:23 Jun 13 2121 built beta DM-1801

MR interface mod
- - selected zone, channel, TG = xyz
change VFO (A or B) (DMR)
- - set frequency, TG = self TG9
- - I become TG TG ---> xxx
switching MR interface mod
- - TG = xyz (OK)
switch again VFO (A or B)
- - TG = self TG9 (xxx lost) ???
switching MR interface
- - TG = self TG9 (xyz lost) ???

Similarly
- - shifts VFO A shift VFO B
- - shifts VFO B shifts VFO A
- - the selected TG is lost, it will always be TG 9. ??

Unless I put # (TG entry) and do not change it, it stays set in both modes. But as soon as somewhere in TG you switch the other is lost and becomes TG9

Maybe that's good, but I don't understand.

If I'm wrong, I apologize!

Hi,

I guess you have a TG list defined for the channel, and single contact set for the VFO(s), so that's a normal behavior.
If you want to keep the same TG for everything at a given time, you need to set a TG override, by pressing # and entering a TG number.

The Channel, VFO A and VFO B are independent, even when using the same TG List, except when a TG override is defined.

Cheers.

Hi,

Also, I don't know which CPS you used to create your codeplug, but in the past it was possible to mess the contact/TG list assignment for a channel.
I can suggest you to read your codeplug back, and check the Channel and VFOs about this, to be sure only one is selected, between TG list and Contact (the latest software forbid you to have both selected).
TG 9 is a fallback value if nothing is defined for a "channel" (VFOs are channels, per se).

Cheers.

Hi
I accept, but I still don't understand.
No contact specified. TG
AND in VFO mode I can also select TG from the set TG list with the left right arrows. And that's lost. That's why I don't understand. It is understandable and super that # menu can be entered as a foreign number.

Thanks!
Greeting!

Hi,

So, if I got you right, you have a TG list set for Channel and VFOs, right ?

Cheers.

Hi,

If you have a TG list set for a Channel or VFO, the selected contact (index in the list) is stored independently,
e.g.
Channel uses "TGList 1", contact #3
VFO A uses "TGList 1", contact #7
VFO B uses "TGList 2", contact #1

switching between any channel/vfo will restore the selected contact.
But bear in mind the contact index is atomic to the "mode", so you have 1 for VFO A, 1 for VFO B and 1 for Channel mode.

Hence, if you have more than one TG list used, since the index is a shared value between all the channels, the selected contact can change while switchiing from a channel to another:
TGList 1: TG6, TG7, TG8, TG9
TGList 2: TG91, TG505

So, Index #2 can be TG7 or TG505, and if selected contact index is TG8 or TG9 (index #3 or #4) on a given channel, switching to a channel that uses TGlist 2 will reset contact index to 0, so TG6 or TG91, for the whole "Channel mode", as it's the only way to handle this case.

Cheers.

Hello Daniel!
Greetings to everyone!

In answer to your previous question first, the applied CPS D2021.06.10.01

Based on your writing, I already think I understand what’s going on.
It's probably what you described
As a user, I thought differently with my head.
I basically use simplex radio. Groups, overlapping, or independent sets.

I was suspicious of TG 9. I put him in a group because I read that he was a general caller.
But not all TG lists include TG 9. Hmm .. And there’s no top of the list either. Thus, the appearance of TG 9 is interesting for VFO / MR switching. If it weren't on the DC list, would it still show up?

I imagined the channel mode, VFO A mode, VFO B mode with three different setting areas.
I thought I could pre-set it on PC or on the radio with Details Rx Grp or left with right selection and # overwriting.
I thought the selected TG group value (12300305 for example) is stored in a separate area of the three modes. And changing it in another area doesn’t knock out the rest.
From an programming point of view, the index you write is understandable.

Although this loses a good DMR user function, which could even be. This DMR is a fast programmable existing group and / or frequency change. Data loss and change is also confusing.
True, I also made a mistake in my mind that dual scan can be used in DMR mode as well :) Or at least it was hope.

Thanks for reading!
No criticism of what I wrote!
Constructively, you receive the writing from me!
Maybe this is just a special need for me.

I hope you stayed understandable with the translation!

Regards!

Zsolt
