Welcome

Just an unrelated question.

When did you get your licence

A long long time ago I had a G8 callsign, when I lived in the UK, and you just reminded me about that

I first obtained my license September 1980 while a schoolboy, a Class B restricted to VHF+ at the time (no Morse). It started my career in communications and network systems which I have enjoyed.

I let it lapse for a few decades before discovering that I could reactive it relatively easily a few years ago, thankfully I had retained the original paper license as evidence. Now post-family I have more time for hobbies.

Looking forward to exploring OpenGD77 on my GD-77.
