Hello Volker,

I do not use the OpenGD77 firmware from downloads/releases/MK22/R20231231/firmware.
As already written, I cannot install an OpenGD77 firmware with OpenGD77 R2023.11.26.02.

But what file do you use then?

You should use one of later files with this CPS, mixing old firmware and new firmware loaders are normally not good.

You can't use the OpenGD77 firmware loader to load a radioditty software!

hi SA0BUX,

I don't understand the question.
I have written several times which CPS and FW I use.
Is it possible that I have been misunderstood?

I am pleased that I was able to bring my GD77 to life with Radioddity-SW.

Now I want to install an OpenGD77 firmware in the GD77 with OpenGD77. And that does not work.

Once again for clarification: I have downloaded and installed GD-77 firmware (NOT OpenGD77) V4.3.3 & software V3.1.9 from https://de.radioddity.com/pages/radiodd ... 0b67620c54.

With OpenGD77 I do NOT want a Radioddity firmware !!! use.

Further support is welcome.
I do not want to scrap my GD77.

Never use the OpenGD77 firmware to install the official firmware

The OpenGD77 firmware only handles Unencrypted OpenGD77 firmware .bin or .zip files

The official firmware files are encrypted, and attempting to load the official firmware using the OpenGD77 will completely scramble the file during the transfer to the radio

You are not explaining clearly enough your entire process.

You need to write every step individually

e.g.

Download OpenGD77 firmware .zip file from location ...
Download correct 'donor' official firmware package zip and unzip and extract the correct 'donor' file
In OpenGD77 CPS, select the donor file
Press buttons SK1 and SK2 on the GD77 then turn on GD77 - GREEN LED MUST NOW SHOW
In OpenGD77 CPS select opengd77 firmware .zip file
etc
etc

This is all fully documented a long time ago and there are many many videos where people explained the complete process

Either your process is wrong or if the GD77 does not show constant Green LED when you power on while SK1 and SK2 are pressed then you have bricked the bootloader

No, You have not mentioned anywhere in this thread what you selected as OpenGD77 software when you got "Error: Firmware file to large"
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3687#p28715

I see that you have "[ +DMR ]" which indicates that you have the donor file loaded but you do not tell us what you used for "Select a File & Update"
which is the step where you got the error.

Hello everyone,

I carefully deleted the CPS and then reinstalled OpenGD77CPSInstaller_R2023.11.26.02.

And then surprise: it works!

Everything is displayed correctly in the LCD, codeplug read, write and CSV data, all ok.

I don't know why it works now, I did everything as before.

Many thanks to everyone for the tips!
