Great firmware

thx for sharing this great firmware with the community
it's a wonderful replacement from the original one in my RT3s
hope you guys make this Alpha mature enough to someday call to an official V1.0 release
(maybe with the added bonus of sms/ability to tx GPS position to a Digital contact)
keep up the good work and feel free to ask if you need testers

Unfortunately its unlikely the firmware will ever have SMS support.
The only developer interested in inverstigating SMS, stopped working on it over a year ago due to various technical problems and the time it was taking to develop.
The GD77 source code has been availabe for anyone to add this function, for several years, but AFIK no one has the time or energy etc to add that functionality.

SMS tx of GPS position seem to be partially implemented with the talker alias, might not be such a long stretch
to make it work on a "per contact" basis

Talker Alias including the GPS data, is a completely different protocol to SMS data
Talker Alias is uses a few bytes inside each voice data frame.
SMS is a completely different frame type
