KB0TXD and open-gd77

Post by kb0txd » Fri Jul 23, 2021 5:13 pm

Well, it says to post here first, so I'm going to be a decent ham and do it. Lots of things to say of course, but the biggest one is that I've tried to flash using the new instructions, and it bricks my radio (gd77s) and I have to flash back to 1.3.0 SGL official to get radio to work again. It seems though to be the radioditty file, not the .bin file from what I can tell. Would there be a bin file we can combine with say the last official 1.3.0 gd-77S firmware? The CPS requires that I load the 4.3.6 .sgl, and it won't let me try. Ideas? Maybe step back from the 4.3.6 .sgl to one prior and continue work from there? Or, of course, just trying to figure out why I can flash but then my radio defaults to intermit flashing light. I'm a coder, network person, and techy, but I'm one among millions today, so I'm sure we've discussed this somewhere.

Hi,

Check the installation procedure (see FAQ section viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1770).
Also, you need to flash a voice pack on the GD-77S, after the firmware.

Cheers.

BTW, it not clear what you mean by 'brick'
