First Steps

Greetings,

I just purchased a GD-77 and I was wondering what top 5-10 steps you would suggest before I modify either the CPS or Firmware. I have not yet played with the radio at all. The software version is v4.03.06, and the DSP Version is HRC6000 v1.2. I don't see a CPS version or a Firmware version.

Also, is there an easy way to convert a TYT MD-UV380 code plug to a GD-77 codeplug?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

BTW.

Don't duplicate channels of the same frequency but different TG's. This is handled by the TG List.

In reality, converting a codeplug from another radio is not the best way of using the improved features of OpenGD77. A well built codeplug for OpenGD77 is much smaller and probably arranged differently because you only need one channel per repeater.
