Re: Battery calibration
Yes, the official charger isn't great and charges rather slowly. That is why I replaced the board with a TP5100 charge module. It charges much faster, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to charge all the way to 8.4 volts, and I have tried more than one of them. I don't mind sacrificing a little capa...

Re: Battery calibration
Yes. But most online resources about Lipo charging state the charger has to charge a 2S battery to 8.4V for it to be 100% charged. e.g. https://blog.ampow.com/lipo-voltage-chart/ Even Wikipedia shows the fully charged voltage of a Lipo as 4.2V per cell https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_polymer_b...

Re: Radio temperature
Can anyone tell me whether in the USA, the temperature is always displayed in deg F, or whether perhaps technical equipment displays the value in deg C ?

Re: Experimental Baofeng RD-5R version
The RF and other hardware in this nradio is much worse than the GD77 or the DM1801 The GD77 has separate Tx and RX sections for VHF and for UHF. The RD5R just has one wide band RF section for 100Mhz to 600MHz, with a low quality switchable output filter for UHF. The spectrum analysis of the RD5R sho...

Re: Radio temperature
Thanks Peter, From my measurements I have established that the raw value changes by 2 for ever 1 deg C This seems consistent across my radios. However the absolute offset value for 0 deg C varies by +/- 10 between each radio. To calculate the 0 offset use the calculation Offset = RAW_VALUE + (ACTUAL...
