As a follow-up, I'm also testing it now on VHF (145.500) using the Anytone and it is working fine throughout a QSO. I know it had been reported previously that hotspot mode was not working in VHF but it seems to be fine for me. Setup is a pi-zero w/pi-star 4.1.0-RC6, latest OpenGD77 Tier2, Anytone 8...

The OpenGD77 hotspot works well with my Anytone 878 as the HT. I have not experienced any issues with that setup.

Is TA set on by default? Is that why the opening CW ID is "TAA"? I can't seem to find any setting to enable/disable in the CPS or on the radio.

In the latest Tier 2 FW (0.72), I can't seem to find how to change the power setting when the radio is in radio (not hotspot) mode. I believe this used to be under the Options menu. It appears that you're stuck with the programmed power setting for that channel? Same observation for VFO- how does on...
