Re: Proposal - remove CPS download Digital Contacts function

If you want to add individual Digital Contacts, to make Private Calls to a few stations you commonly speak to, you would be better off adding the contacts manually, and using the ID look-up system which I added to the Digital Contact screen. ie You just need to enter the callsign and then press loo...

Re: Building doc for OpenGD77 way of doing Talkgroups etc

Yes I agree completely. That's why I'm attempting to understand the usecases so I can help myself and others to construct useful codeplugs. I'm still trying to tease it all out.
Got any usecases that might help me. Different points of view ?

Re: 3d model of the GD77 battery enclosure

There's a remix from June with battery: - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4487606 - better battery - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4574051 I'll start in on an OpenSCAD version so we can do the GD77 and the DM-1801 (Which I have) It will incorporate the 18650 batteries. This is a pretty clever ...

Re: Building doc for OpenGD77 way of doing Talkgroups etc

Thanks Colin - this is all very helpful. Do you find that a repeater will generally not be sharing DMR MARC and Brandmeister on the same repeater ? For example this is a repeater in Christchurch NZ: 530305 ZL3DVR Christchurch 439.57500 1 Mixed Mode -5.000 Brandmeister + DMR Gateway Time Slot # 1 - G...

Re: Building doc for OpenGD77 way of doing Talkgroups etc

Can anyone indicate a usecase for having multiple TGlists ?

It seems like having none means you have total manual control but its going to be noisy.
Having a single list which every channel points to is a good default and then using RxG as the Filtering.

Re: New owner/user - initial impressions

Hi Darrin,
On this forum reboots have been associated with too much RF. Some people have had success with external aerials and chokes on the usb lead. YMMV

Re: Building doc for OpenGD77 way of doing Talkgroups etc

Accumulating docs for understanding and creating OpenGD77 codeplugs. Feedback please. I fully expect some of this to be not quite correct. Diagram/Cheatsheet inserted. DMR - Commercial design vs Amateur Radio needs DMR was designed for commercial radio networks where groups of people communicate on ...

Re: Building doc for OpenGD77 way of doing Talkgroups etc

This is super helpful thanks. Basically OpenGD77 is skipping all the complexity of commercial DMR and going back to simple repeater frequency based idea we are all familiar with. I like that the all the DMR specific aspects (TG, TS, CC) are filterable but you can hear everything on a repeater if you...
