A little note from another TYT MD-9600 user: I've noticed my radio doesn't see satellites very well if my computer is turned on (about 18" away.) As soon as I shut it off they pop right up and it gets a fix.

The factory GPS doesn't work that well, and its position inside the display is not ideal

Previous versions of the CPS had a very convenient glitch that allowed tabbing into the Rx and Tx tones and entering non-standard DCS codes for non-standard repeaters, which made the firmware absolutely ubiquitous. Yes. The offiial firmware with these radios is terrible.

This is probably becasue its designed for commercial users, where the operator of the radio is given virtually no control of the radio
