de UA0LMC

Well, I should've done this a long ago - but better late than never. Hello, I'm Alex from Vladivostok, Russia. I got a HAM license with the callsign UA0LMC in 1996, and despite two license upgrades I somehow managed to keep my original callsign since then. My current job has nothing to do with radio...

Re: DMR inband position transmit

The Motorola MotoTRBO location packets are still not supported yet by PNW DMR network at this point, even though this has been looked at for quite a while. Another side note is that the TYT DMR radios (some versions) can have GPSr built in; but seems no such feature has been written in the custom f...

[Fixed in later beta] TS filter timer not working properly

Hello. I've noticed incorrect TS filter behavior. Tested this on two radios. One radio is RD-5r, tested both R2021052901 and R2021071101 firmware with the same results. Conditions: the radio is tuned to a local repeater, TS filter is off, filter time set to 15 seconds. I talk to TS2 TG. When I relea...

Re: time setting for satellite data

The radio hardware does not have a real time clock, or GPS. Workaround for real time clock is as previously describe by F1RMB https://github.com/LibreDMR/OpenGD77_UserGuide/blob/master/OpenGD77_User_Guide.md#suspend BTW, what do you think of hardware mods? I understand these mods won't be done by e...

I see what you mean

Possibly the position entered by the operator could be sent as part of the Tx TA.
Yes, that's exactly what I mean.
AFAIK, Hytera radios can do this for a long time, and Motorola has also added inband GPS, as well as TA, since M2020.02 firmware.

Re: DMR inband position transmit

Well, it's not a stand-alone data transmission - it's one of the voice-associated inband data services, just like a Talker Alias. It's defined in ETSI TS 102 361-2 V2.4.1 part 5.4 (with more detailed PDU description in part 7), where TA description literally goes after the description of inband posi...

DMR inband position transmit

For as long as I remember, OpenGD77 firmware was capable of receiving inband position info (and displaying a grid locator), as well as receiving and sending Talker Alias. And since the recent betas we also have (a some sort of) our own position info for satellite mode. Has it been considered to enab...

Re: SWR meter on OpenGD77 possible???

The short answer is "No".
To measure SWR you need a certain hardware, i.e. a directional coupler, which is absent in GD77 or any other supported radio.

Re: RX status sign point

I think the candidate is an Amp IC. The detail just can't be read in the picture. :( An audio power amp IC outlined on the photo is a clone of tda2822 (at least that's what in my dm1801). This IC is powered only when the speaker is active - i.e. when radio beeps, plays voice prompts, DMR RX, open s...

Re: DM-1801 DMR Microphone Level

We are aware of a bug when adjusting the DMR Mic gain, this doesnt work correctly, because one of the gain multipliers in the DMR chip is not being configured when the Mic gain option is changed on the options screen As I've mentioned before, the low mic gain problem was on all of my Baofengs, even...
