Re: GPS slow to find location

That sounds normal for these radios. When the GPS starts up it always has to do a cold start. (Because there is no backup battery). A cold start requires the GPS to download the Orbit data from the satellites. This can take a long time if the signal is weak or fluctuating. Keeping the GPS steady can...

Re: HELP! Stuck on Settings Updated screen

It may not be of much use to you but I have found a UK company that claims to have replacement screens.

Re: HELP! Stuck on Settings Updated screen

Bruce has already fixed the button issue, he is now talking about a display issue. Unfortunately the display module will be hard to find. TYT themselves may be the only place you can get one. I have heard of them sending spare displays to people via their Facebook account, but I don't know what thei...

Re: Retained Settings After Flashing OpenGD77 Firmware

Hold P3 when turning on the radio and the press ENT to accept the new settings.
That will reset all settings. Create a new codeplug using the CPS and load it. That will reset all channels.

Re: Retained Settings After Flashing OpenGD77 Firmware

This is normal. cS2 indicates that the timeslot is being controlled by your contact setting. When you define a talkgroup or contact you can also assign it a timeslot. Loading new firmware will never reset the channels. They are defined in the codeplug and that never reset. If you want to remove chan...

Re: Subaudible decoding

Yes, that is quite normal. CTCSS decoders in many radios will often respond to one tone either side of the correct one. This is due to the bandwidth of the tone filtering. When scanning tones the firmware stops on the first one it finds. DCS doesn't suffer from this as two adjacent codes are complet...

Password is the release version. Rxxxx.xx.xx.xx
It is displayed in the title line at the top of the password entry form.

Re: Quansheng DM600UV

Just looking at the picture it looks like the LCD display is not pixel based but uses individual fixed icons and a small text areas for the frequencies/channels. That would make it very difficult to use with OpenGD77 as it would not support the current display methods and would need major rewrite of...

Re: Question: CPS 2024.01.22.01 and programming for Talk Groups

Contact and TG List are mutually exclusive on a channel. You either define a contact and that is what will always be used when making a call. Or you define a TG List which allows you to select the contact to be used from the list. Unlike most DMR radios the TG List is used for both Tx and Rx. This i...

Re: Channel CSV construction and import struggles

Two Problems,

You have used NONE instead of None in many lines. The Input Parser is fussy! Use notepad++ to change all NONE to None.

The last Line for WX7 has no channel number (248) at the beginning and no CR LF at the end.

Having corrected these the file loads OK.
