Re: Recent versions of firmware will be removed
If you are an experienced embedded firmware developer, you could change the linker to remove the reserved sections for the official firmware, and compile in the codec2 files, however you still have several problems. 1. codec2 does not use the DMR forward error correction, which is part of the functi...

Re: Recent versions of firmware will be removed
The binary sections contain all sorts of code and data, not just the codec, but its all mixed together like its been in a blender. OK. Then the answer to the question is "very difficult to do". Thank you. Not impossible, but incredibly time consuming, and its unlikely even if you manually compacted...

Re: GD77 Not Powering On - Fixed
OK. It would still be cheaper than buying a mmdmv hotspot board, albeit would only work for DMR audio

Re: CPS partial restores of Flash memory
Try restoring the flash first
If it still does not work then restore the EEPROM

Re: [Corrupted official firmware] Radio won't enter the bootloader
I don't think I have any photos, but the pads you need to connect to are clearly labeled and are on the virtually empty side of the PCB which you see as soon as you open the radio
I think Jason VK7ZJA has photos of the PCB on the couple of web pages he created about the GD77

Thanks Colin
I presume that radio could have been used as a hotspot even without replacing the audio amplifier chip

Re: Dual Watch in latest version openDM1801 2021.04.03
Oops..unfortunately after trying to set eco mode to zero (0), analog transmissions still not detected in Dual Watch in April's release. It's not a big deal though, I personally prefer the eco Mode in April's release, it is super nice :D But if there is chance to fix this in the future, it will be s...

Re: Dual Watch in latest version openDM1801 2021.04.03
OK
I'll need to investigate why its not working.
One change since January is that Dual Watch now operates in Eco mode.
You could try disabling Eco mode and see if the bug still exists.
