Re: CPS error if channel number higher then 1024
Further to Rogers comment. The codeplug only supports 1024 channels. The Channel number column in channels.csv allows you to specify exactly where you want to save a channel. That channel number is the one you can enter when in the special 'All Channels' Zone. This allows you to group channels logic...

Re: Follow up on GPS for MD-9600
The RT90/MD9600 has a plug in antenna. It is possible the antenna is unplugged / not fitted / faulty. GPS reception is probably not tested in the factory.
The GPS module and antenna is in the front panel.

Re: MD-9600 mic pinouts
As Roger says pins 7 and 8 are grounded in the front panel. You might be able to disconnect those pins from ground and use them for audio but you might need to remove the whole socket to do it as the PCB is double sided. There is low level audio on the volume control which could be used. If you want...

Re: Which time standard is used?
If the time is synched from the GPS module then it uses the NMEA sentences sent from the module. NMEA specifies that the time is UTC, so the leap second adjustment from GPS time to UTC should have been done by the module. I don't think that anyone has ever checked this though. If it is really import...

Re: MD-9600 mic pinouts
That last document is as good as it gets. The original was an existing scanned diagram for a Yaesu microphone which is almost the same. I just modified it to suit.

Yes, that's about it.
You would also need to load an original firmware codeplug.

Re: MD-9600 mic pinouts
I was the author of that document. It is amazing where it appears around the internet! I can confirm that it is correct. RJ45s are tricky to wire as the location of pin 1 is not well defined. It is easy to wire them up in reverse. I suggest double checking against a genuine microphone. If you look c...

Re: Uploading to radio but com 1 fails
When running OpenGD77 the radio creates its own Com port when connected via USB. Make sure you installed the driver when you loaded the CPS.

Re: Tried searching the forum but was unable to find info on updating firmware
Just use the OpenGD77 CPS to load the new firmware as you did originally. Your codeplug will not be lost. If you have previously selected the donor file in the computer you should not need to do this again. Occasionally your radio settings may be reset, this only happens if new settings have been ad...
