Re: TYT MD-9600 / Retevis RT-90 : Experimental version

To AA3RP, Thanks for the offer of a radio for testing. Between the three main developers we already have examples of each of the 3 major radio versions. So at the moment we do not really need another. Hang on to it, there is a chance it may work with the new firmware when it is released. Colin G4EML.

Re: TYT MD-9600 / Retevis RT-90 : Experimental version

Currently the firmware is in an alpha test phase with a limited number of testers. As it involves a lot of work individually mailing out the test firmware we are not able to support any more testers at the moment. Once the firmware enters the beta test phase it will be made more available. Colin G4E...

Re: How do I roll back to the original firmware?

Use the OpenGD77 CPS to restore the flash and eeprom backups. Then use the manufacturers update program to reload the firmware.

Re: Calibration of the transmitter power in the 2M band

If you post the calibration file from your radio I will have a look at it and see if I can see anything unusual. To save the calibration file you need to do... Load the factory firmware. Connect the radio and run the factory CPS. Press <Control> T to bring up the calibration screen. Save the calibra...

Re: Calibration of the transmitter power in the 2M band

That is strange, the new firmware should be using the same calibration values as the original firmware, so the top three power levels should be the same or at least very similar. Low powers will not be accurate because there is no calibration data for them. The radios I have tested seem to behave co...

Re: Calibration of the transmitter power in the 2M band

Your 70cm results are probably normal. Your 2m results are a little strange but I am not too surprised. The variation between radios seems to be very large and even the factory calibration is not very accurate. A more useful set of data would be to switch to the user defined power setting +W- and th...

Re: FAQ How to Flash

No, you need the Radioddity GD77 firmware for all radio types. Note:- You must not load this firmware into the radio, you only need to tell the CPS where it is located on your computer. The CPS will then automatically extract and combine the relevant part of the official firmware when downloading th...

Re: Edit channels

As you have found CSV files are simple but that still have variations. Your delimiter problem is most likely due to your Windows regional settings. If your country uses comma for decimal numbers then the list separator will be changed to semicolon. I no longer use Excel, but I seem to remember it di...

Re: Firmware no .bin file found :(

You need to download the .bin file for your radio from either the releases or the betas.

You will find all of the available files at https://www.opengd77.com/downloads/

Re: DCDM and SFR

Single frequency repeat is available as an additional cost option on the latest Motorola repeaters. Retevis also market the RT74 repeater that has single frequency repeat capability. So the equipment is out there and available at a cost. The DMR specification does acknowledge that SFR is possible bu...
