Re: Slight ticking sound
It seems that this problem is indeed linked with the open firmware. I installed the open firmware on a brand new Baofeng RD-5R and I have the same sound. I looked at the bug reports, the closest that can find is the bug about "motorboarding".

Re: Slight ticking sound
This is when using the radio directly and also happens on FM.
I know that a hand mic can pick up the buzzing sound from the DMR TDMA structure.

Slight ticking sound
Other people noticed that there is a slight ticking sound on my transmissions. The ticking is relatively fast, several times a second. This happens when I am not moving (I know there is another problem when people are moving). The sound happens on DMR and on analog FM. Another GD-77, still on the ma...

Update firmware with cps?
Hi! I feel this is a silly question, but I am really lost. I updated the GD77 to the openGD77 firmware with the community CPS. So far, so good. Now, I can only access the codeplug of that radio via the special openGD77 menu. From that menu, I can read and write calibration, codeplug, flash. I need t...

Re: Calibration data
I finally got around using the flash manager. I am sorry, but whatever changes I enter into the radio are not saved. Everything appears to work as expected, except that when I read the content of the flash back, the values are back to what they were originally.

Calibration data
I am using the CPS "community edition" on a stock GD-77. I could change "analog mic gain" and it is saved in the GD-77. When I change the "analog TX deviation" - "overall gain", the value stays on "39" after save and read from the GD-77. Is the problem known? Background: other hams complained that m...
