Re: Display/keyboard backlight oddity

I checked the code and this is a mistake in the power saving code, which was intended only for stress testing the power saving. It will be mostly fixed in the next public beta. With the new power saving measures, we can't avoid a very small flicker when entering and existing the deepest power savin...

[Fixed in later beta release] Display/keyboard backlight oddity

I noticed that my back light on my GD-77 will start pulsing slightly brighter in regular intervals after 8 to 10 seconds after it turns on. This seems to only be noticeable when the brightness is set to 10 or less and the eco level is set to 3 or higher. It is the most noticeable at eco level 5. I h...

Larger memory

25Q128 128M-bits 16M-bytes Daniel fitted this chip, not me I have 2 radios which have 25Q64 8Mb in them, but these were factory special's supplied to me by TYT. I did not upgrade them myself Note. The 8 and 16mb chips are a bigger footprint than the 1Mb 25Q80 fitted in the radio, so you have to be ...

You need to:
* first make a backup of the current flash,
* swap the chips,
* power on the transceiver, which will display a "CAL DATA ERROR",
* restore that backup using the CPS

Cheers.

Thank you for this information.

Can you also tell me the part number of the flash chip you used?

Re: Public Beta (2021 11 10)

* 16M byte Flash memory is now supported for anyone who wants to modify their hardware by removing the 1Mb chip and fitting a 16Mb chip. (F1RMB has made this modification to his radio) May I ask what flash memory chip F1RMB used in his GD-77 and what has to be done to get the radio back up and runn...

Re: Displaying currently received time slot information

I agree that adding any additional information to the screen would not be good idea, and I wasn't suggesting doing so. My idea was that it could be done similar to how the Color Code function is done. When the CC filter is turned off, the CC portion of the display shows the detected color code inste...

Re: Scan speed versus sensitivity

I haven't run across any issues so far with the April 2nd release, and "Scan dwell" makes perfect sense to me.

I don't think we need to "dwell" on this subject any longer. ;)

Re: Displaying currently received time slot information

Well, it's not really something that I need to know.
I just thought that when monitoring a repeater with the TS filter turned off so that I can hear both time slots, it would be nice to know which TS i am currently listening to.

Re: Scan speed versus sensitivity

I just installed v5 and it appears to have solved the issues. I am able to flash my code plugs now, and the problems with both VFO's also appear to be resolved. Resetting my radio didn't reset VFO-A like it did before.

Looks like you found the culprit.

Thank you.

Re: Scan speed versus sensitivity

I just installed the March 2nd CPS software and flashed the v4 firmware and I still cannot upload any of my code plugs into my GD-77. The error occurs when writing to the eeprom. I am also still having problems with VFO-B. I can change the frequency and then turn the radio off and then back on, and ...
