Re: Audio Leveling
I've been thinking about this, too. A digital "AVC" or "AGC" on receive would be highly desirable. Probably with an "off/on/thresholds" control in the Quick Menu. We all know how widely varied the audio level of many ham DMR signals are. Monitoring any talk group or channel requires constant "riding...

Batch file to create your preferred DMR ID database
As we all know, the GD-77 has limited memory for its DMR ID to callsign/name database. I've written MakeMyDmrDb.bat, a Windows batch file that filters the complete DMR ID database to the user's specifications. I've documented it both with a text file and extensive comments in the batch file itself. ...

Re: Bigger (or better) DMR ID Database
My second suggestion may have been a case of "oops, I missed that." Is the CPS' download from Ham-Digital.org usable? I read that the site is discontinued or orphaned. But CPS does download a list of IDs and callsigns only--no names. And they appear in order of how many days ago they were heard. So ...

Bigger (or better) DMR ID Database
Hi, Roger, Daniel and developers. I have an idea about how to give OpenGD77 a bigger DMR ID database. Forgive me if you have already thought of it or it's not feasible. I'm not a programmer myself, but maybe I know enough to be dangerous :-) In CPS, create a list of all unique first names in the des...

How to monitor repeater w/many Talk Groups?
I am really enjoying OpenGD77. I've got things working nicely with my pi-star hotspot on Brandmeister. I've set up channels, talk groups and a talk group list for a nearby repeater in our regional DMR network (C-Bridge based). That, too is working nicely. Despite reading the manual, I'm not complete...

XLX reflectors on DMR (Brandmeister)
Does Brandmeister (in the USA) not allow connecting to XLX reflectors anymore? Or am I misunderstanding something about making an XLX connection with OpenGD77? I was able to connect to several XLX reflectors on an Anytone 878 some time ago--I don't remember how long. But I can't seem to make it work...

Re: No GD77 COM port
Ah... Thank you! That was the missing piece in my brain. I thought you had to have the COM port before you could do anything.
I've flashed the 2021 July firmware, it looks good, and the GD77 COM port now appears on my PC.
Merci bien!

Re: No GD77 COM port
Thanks, Daniel. But if I don't have a GD77 COM port, how can I flash the firmware?

No GD77 COM port
Brand new GD-77, Windows 10 Professional with Windows Updates enabled. I've done nothing to it using the manufacturer's I'm just trying to back up the current firmware, EEPROM, etc. before flashing OpenGD77 to the radio. No matter what I do, I can't get a GD77 serial port to appear in Device Manager...
