Re: User Interface controls
This is a very good cheat sheet. But may I respectfully disagree about using the term SK2? It is meaningless on the 9600, and the reversal of numbers (SK2=P1) is confusing. The developers began with the GD-77, and have worked with all the radios. But not all users have that frame of reference. Which...

G4EML’s volume & speaker pop mods, hooray!
I want to give three cheers for Colin G4EML and his mods to moderate the TYT 9600’s hypersensitive volume control and eliminate the speaker pop or click when the squelch changes state or beeps sound. They work. The volume control mod is fairly easy. The speaker pop mod is fiddly but doable for someo...

Good to know. Thanks, Roger!

Re: Calibration of the transmitter power in the 2M band
What power level should we stay at or above to avoid trouble in DMR? I have V.2 hardware. I’ve been running my radio at 250 mw for UHF DMR with a Pi-Star hotspot. So far, no apparent issues or bad signal reports. For local repeaters, FM or DMR, I run 5, 10 or 25 watts. All to a ground plane antenna ...

Star Trek? You want Star Trek? I'll give you Star Trek. Here's the opening fanfare from the original series. Which I am old enough to remember hearing when it first aired

Re: Alpha version available for download
I can confirm: On my MD-9600, the "out of band" message now displays instead of frequency on the 220 MHz channels in my codeplug. These work as receive-only channels on my GD-77.

Re: [Bootscreens and Melodies] Post your creations here.
And here's my current startup melody. It's the theme from the 4th movement of Haydn's Symphony No. 88, a cheerful little tune that the bassoon plays an octave below the violins. Actual solos for low-pitched instruments like mine are a problem, because the speakers in the GD-77 and MD-9600 are not ab...

Re: Bug: Squelch "Master" setting is 0% on 222 MHz
Ah, I didn't realize that the MD-9600 couldn't receive the 222 band. No problem. I've isolated those channels in their own zone, so I simply won't try to receive them with the MD-9600. Just sorry I haven't made myself useful by finding a real bug.

Bug: Squelch "Master" setting is 0% on 222 MHz
Summary: 222 MHz channels whose Squelch level in the CPS is set to "Master" end up with the squelch wide open. But only on the MD-9600. The problem does not occur on my GD-77 with the same codeplug. Details: I have several receive-only channels that are 222 MHz analog repeaters. The "OpenGD77 Squelc...
