How does one start porting the fw to another platform?

Hi! I have a couple RT50s (aka TYT MD-680D) I use for when I’m hiking as they’re pretty strong radios. The internals are pretty similar to the ones found in a GD77 (MK22FN512, HR-C6000, AT1846S, etc.), and I wanted to try myself if I’m capable of porting the OpenGD77S version to this handheld. I’ve ...

Retevis RT50/TYT MD-680D

Hi! I have a couple RT50s (aka TYT MD-680D) lying around in my house and I was wondering if the firmware could at some point be ported to these radios. They're like the GD77S, pretty easy to use, but with a hidden display. It is also waterproof which makes it a great simple radio, I use it for when ...

Strange noise after boot melody if last mode was FM

Hi, I think I've found a bug in my DM-1801. Every time I turn on my radio, if the last channel or VFO before turning it off was analog, a strange "click" noise is heard after the boot melody. I've been trying to investigate the bug in the code but I haven't found an appropiate solution so far. I thi...

Hi,

... VFO -> New Channel bug report ...

Okay, it's fixed (with a little more code, but it was indeed uninitialized in the case of a cold boot in VFO mode).
It will be part of the next release, and thanks again for the report.

Cheers.

Selecting "VFO -> New Channel" after power cycle results in the first zone being deleted

Hi, I might've found and solved a bug in my DM-1801, running the lastest version of the firmware. Steps to recreate: - Select the first zone in Channel mode - Change to VFO mode - Power cycle the device, so it starts in VFO mode (it also happens if you restore settings) - Select "VFO -> New Channel"...

Re: Having issues with the built firmware

I just can't imagine how frustrating must be to spend hundreds of hours working in a project like this and rejecting donations to stick to the ham radio non-profit principles, to later learn that someone is charging money for you've done for free. If Roger and the developers want to stop publishing ...

You're right, it has already been fixed in the lastest development and release versions, sorry!

Re: Squelch open when battery under 7.0 V in DM-1801, etc.

Thank you. I'll have a look. By the way, I think I may have found how to correct another bug. The function codeplugContactIndexByTGorPC in source/functions/codeplug.c (lines 580-593) returns 0 if the contact is not found, but also when the contact is found and it's the first in the list (its index n...
