Re: Voice prompts update

The different 'versions' of each file are the speed of the speech.

1.0 is the normal speed but this can seem quite slow when you are scrolling through the menus.
2.0 is twice the normal speed.

Just pick whichever one you prefer. Personally I use 1.25.

Re: ALPHA 2022 11 25

The position is sent as in-band data as part of a voice transmission addressed to the currently selected talkgroup. As such it would probably not be popular if the radio was to transmit at regular intervals on a busy talkgroup.

Re: Wind noise on internal microphone

I have just checked and I agree with Roger, on both my MDUV380 and my MDUV390 the mic level with no modulation is between the D and the M of 'DMR'. It may be your radio has a very sensitive internal microphone, in which case you may need to reduce the DMR mic gain. The meter reading on DMR will refl...

Re: ALPHA version - Known problems

I haven't noticed anything like that. It sounds like you may have a problem with the internal microphone. There is probably nothing the firmware can do about that.

One thing that might be worth trying is to reduce the microphone gain in the sound settings.

Re: TYT MD-9600, add GPS later?

It is unlikely that a USB GPS could be supported. But is should be possible to add a serial GPS module, either inside the radio or on a flying lead. Whilst it may not be possible to get the factory fitted module there is plenty of room to fit another type. I believe that Roger is planning to try thi...

Re: Mobile radio compatibility

Yes, the TYT MD-9600 (also known as the Retevis RT90) is compatible and all versions are supported. This radio has several hardware versions, each one needs slightly different firmware. It can be difficult to identify which version hardware you have but no damage will be caused by loading the wrong ...

Re: Code Plug Conversion?

Yes in that situation you can create two different contacts with different timeslots. If you leave the override set to none then the radio will use whatever timeslot it is currently set to. It is up to you to make sure it is set to the correct timeslot for the repeater. There is no difference betwee...

Re: GD-77 belly up..

If you want to go back to the official firmware you need to use the official firmware loader and firmware image both downloaded from radioddity. You must already have both of these as you say that you updated the radio at the beginning of your post. The OpenGD77 CPS cannot be used to do this, it can...
