Re: MD-UV390 scan nuisance malfunction

unfortunately in VFO is where I need this skip the most, since this way I can listen to trunked analog. however have to skip plenty of control channels which this radio obviously cannot decode. in any case, since 16 nuisance channels is a limitation, not a bug, I guess we can close this one. This f...

Re: DM-5R: bad audio/motorboating

My motorboating is common on all these cheap handheld radios when using an external mic

And the RD-5R is the cheapest lowest quality radio which the firmware supports.
The RD-5R also won't support hotspot mode because it injects too much RF into its own USB connection

Re: Baofeng DM-1701 firmware / Retevis RT-84

Hi, same effect here: OpenGD77 DM-1701 decodes only fragments of incoming DMR while stock FW works fine on the same device. Probably the "donor software" of MD-9600 ist not really suitable for DM-1701? 73 de Bert Donor firmware is only used for audio codec ( AMBE ) encoding and decoding More likely...

Re: RD-5R codeplug to OpenRD-5R codeplug; firmware install

The open firmware has to directly integrate / patch into to a specific version of the official firmware to get the AMBE codec Hence why you must use the version of the official / donor firmware, which the open firmware is designed to work with. The way the open firmware intergrates with the oficial ...

Re: Baofeng Dm-5r; 220 MHz Ham Band

Here is something that the DM-5R may have that my RD-5R does not: the 220 MHz Ham Radio band! I confirmed it will receive and I see no reason why it won't transmit as well! UPDATE: Yes, I transmitted on the input frequency of a local repeater with the proper CTCSS tone set and it hits and triggers ...

Re: Baofeng Dm-5r

Yes, I can now confirm that the DM-5R that I purchased from AliExpress two weeks ago works with the OpenRD-5R firmware that is available on this Site. I still have much to learn, but it works! OK. Looks like its the older style case, possibly old stock someone has found in a warehouse and is not se...

Re: RD-5R codeplug to OpenRD-5R codeplug

Well yes this will work UNTIL you have a TG that on one repeater is on one TS and on another repeater is on the other TS. -> We have 9 DMR repeaters on three different networks in my local area, and (ehem) this configuring the TG to a specific TS and a repeater to ONLY ONE channel (setting) would b...
