Scanning in promiscuous mode
Is there a way to stop scanning at the channel and talkgroup you are presently receiving? Mine can be stopped at the channel but goes to the default talkgroup for that channel :( Also I suppose I could find out how to increase the pause time while scanning in the RTFM ;) but if anyone has experience...

Re: Maximum Power on TYT-MD-9600
The CT state passed a similar exemption - but the feds threatened to withhold highway funds so the exemption was voided.

Re: VOX tail for packet mode
So, the open firmware for the $20 UV-K5 claims to have their VOX adjustable now down to 128ms or even 0ms but I can't get that to work - I think they are adjusting something different LOL. In any case I'd sure like to see OpenGD77 adjustable down as far as the hardware allows to see if we can have a...

Re: New Beta 2023 11 26
Because you can't move around channels I use export/edit/import for that.
Seems to be a bug where the PL 156.7 get changed to 156.6 when you do this?
EDIT> Can't reproduce, maybe an older version of the CPS corrupted my codeplug and I just noticed now?

Re: Quansheng UV-K5 w/ an active development scene
They have even managed to get it to receive SSB using another undocumented feature. It's not possible to transmit though. Rumor is that it is actually receiving DSBSC not USBSC so doesn't care if it's USB or LSB but obviously will crap out on a CB channel with both. One firmware claims to be able t...

Re: Channel and Zone Controls
To my mind, TGs are "channels" within a zone and I most often select a zone that is a local repeater then I switch between the channel/TGs using the encoder knob. The old DMR paradigm sucks eggs IMO and I just didn't want to join in on that BS. The OpenGD77 paradigm is SO much easier to program and...

Re: Follow up on GPS for MD-9600
Thanks for all your replies! Yes, I have GPS turned on so it must be installed. If background beaconing is ever enabled in the firmware I'll look into troubleshooting/fixing it :) . Worst case I might buy another and use this one for a base station. I got it for $280 shipped on a sale so I'm not too...
