Re: Hotspot mode and ethernet

Or a Zero W that has wifi.. But yeah you can get a hub for $10 and a USB to Ethernet dongle for $10, plus it's all a bit janky, etc. If you need ethernet I'd also suggest just getting a full sized Pi like suggested.

Personally, mine works fine on wifi.

Re: Recent versions of firmware will be removed

:( sad to see the project end this way effort all the bugs were fully ironed out. This was a wonder for us ham with vision disability. Gave us a fully accessible DMR radio that was easy to use and didn’t break the bank to get. Ending? It's not ending. I don't think this is healthy for the project b...

Do you have a direct link to the latest firmware for the GD-77? I can’t use the CPS to download due to I have to run it in a windows VM and the the VM don’t have internet access.
The github link.

Re: Is the GD77 hardware capable of analog cross band repeater function?

The GD77 has a single receiver and I've never seen a radio that'll do cross-band with a single receiver, even though I suppose it could be done.

Re: Scan speed versus sensitivity

Roger,

Just my two cents.. Speed doesn't really fit, as we're really talking how much time between scanning. Delay to me feels easier to understand than Dwell, but either feel more technically correct as the wording to describe how long it waits for a signal.

Re: Any DONATION page?

The end product is not what you're licensing. Having binary blobs does not make the code not GPL. So not sure why someone would claim that having such things would invalidate any GPL license attached to the code.

Re: Changes to default setting values

Timeout beep is not the TOT its the warning beeps when TOT is set, which warns that you are about to timeout. You should give then a try. 10 secs warming is usually enough to finish yiuor Over etc before you timeout Yep, sorry, I was unclear there. I was saying I haven't ever set ToT on this radio,...

Re: Changes to default setting values

Seems sane to me, I almost always set my beeps to -9 when it's on my desk, if i were somewhere noisy I might set it to a louder setting. Timeout I never set on this radio for some reason, I usually set it to 1 minute on most radios but looks like I've never set it on any channels, I should do that. ...

Re: Droid-Star open development

Be sure that HS securityt does work. I have tried myself. Wrong password and you don't connect to BM. ;) Same, but it wasn't an intentional test.. rebuilt PIStar and forgot to put my hotspot password in and pounded on it for 30 minutes before I figured it out. I forget if it was in a log file or wh...
