Re: Slow GPS on Retevis RT3S
But my Anytone 878UV+ isn't much better, I have stopped try using the GPS on these radios, it's just a gimmick. I haven't really tried my RT3s in the outdoor to test the GPSr, but my Anytone AT-D878UV (non +, original model)'s GPSr isn't too bad, it picked up signals and acquired a lock quite often...

Re: TYT MD-9600 discontinued? [No]
I thought someone already posted photos of their new MD-9600 with the TYT (unbranded) CPU working OK So I don't think there is a need to find old stock Yes that was I actually. And I just ordered another one from LGR, but I don't have it here yet, still across the border. When I get it, I will be a...

Re: Where to buy a MD-2017
I'm not sure if the radio I received is new, becuase I think the battery was already fitted to the radio, when its not supposed to be, and also the box was definitely opened by the vendor as its got a mains plug converter to Australian standard which would not normally be in the box. Also the charg...

Re: TYT MD-2017 Teardown
Very nice. thanks for the tear down and pics. This model was very popular as it was probably the very first dual band DMR HT at the time, and 2 local friends bought it back then, however, I am not sure if both have kept it or not, I think at least one had sold his. This model predated the GD77 and U...

Re: DM-1701 received today
I bought some scratch removal kit made by Kingston (the computer accessory company) many years ago and still have a few around. It came in with 3 different bottles of polishing paste and one is used first, and then the second and then the third in certain order. I successfully removed a very deep sc...

Re: belt case for gd77
This is great! I'll try to give you a shout when I figure out what to do with this little rig. LOL! All these contacts, zones, groups, and channels stuff. I thought I knew relational database. DMR is a bit confusing to me. Perhaps I am getting old. Just please keep an ear out for me the next few da...

Re: TYT MD-9600 discontinued? [No]
I just recently found out that Let's Get Ready (LGR) in Los Angeles has the MD-9600 in stock for $200. (free shipping w/in US) (I didn't know when I bought mine on Aliexpress a month ago). It's listed on their website. I have talked to LGR and they have pulled one off their stock and the serial numb...

Re: FYI - GPS
This looks very exciting. Quite a bit of work, but I might attempt it one of these days! Other models are not GPSr equipped so this is the only HT w/ OpenGD77 support that also can do GPS data.
It is interesting that a preamp can make such a big diff.
