Re: Open GD77 poor DMR RX
Hi G0FAJ, Did you ever find a solution for this poor DMR RX? I'm having this issue on a local DMR repeater that I have a fairly good signal from. I am running the latest firmware. I was hoping maybe there was setting that might correct the issue. I'm having the issue on 2 DM-1701s that I have here....

Re: Experimental version to help DMR breakup
OK Roger...Thankyou for explanation...It is a shame my gd77 cant be improved on RX on DMR, otherwise with open gd77 in it the rig is great. 73 de Les These radios are super cheap, so you get what you pay for. The transceiver chip literally costs $1 USD, and is direct conversion and suffers from a v...

Re: Experimental version to help DMR breakup
This thread releates to a post I made in 2020, so the information in it is totally obsolete. Last firmware release was December 31 2023, however there were no changes to the GD77S, so updateing to that version will not make any difference to your DMR Rx. Thankyou for replying...So can any alteratio...

Re: Experimental version to help DMR breakup
My GD77s use a firmware version Mar 4 2023 efc2c8b D . Have the firmware versions since these posts include the alteration to improve the dmr receive side. Can this timeout be adjusted or what please ? 73 de Les G0FAJ This thread releates to a post I made in 2020, so the information in it is totall...

Re: Experimental version to help DMR breakup
I am currently running with a timeout of 13. No issues so far. It is still only a third of a second. Fading and flutter can easily cause dropouts of that sort of duration. I would expect some audio artifacts in that situation but it would recover instantly the signal returns. The AMBE Codec is pret...

Re: Open GD77 poor DMR RX
Latest firmware for the MD9600 is 31st Dec 2023. You should update, but it will not improve the Rx of weak signals. To me this sounds like you have hardware problems with the radio. Hi.. I havent tried updating the firmware yet, but I have 2 x Open GD77s and both have the same problem.. I am trying...

Re: Open GD77 poor DMR RX
Do you really mean Timeslots? The way you phrase your question sounds more like you mean Talkgroups. If that is the case then what you hear is determined by the DMR Filter setting. By default is is set to OFF which means there is no filtering and all talkgroups will be heard. Setting the DMR filter...

Re: Open GD77 poor DMR RX
Another problem I do get which I assume is to do with programming is that when I listen to a DMR timeslot I can hear other timeslots on that repeater.. Can you advise on this please ?

Re: Open GD77 poor DMR RX
I guess it could be that the GD77 has a wide open front end and not a lot of selectivity and the effect Im getting on DMR is desense.I do get desense on FM so it stands to reason that it will also affect the DMR RX on 2m. Thankyou for replying. 73 de Les G0FAJ UK.
