Re: DCS audio cuts out
I compared versions Jul 31 2020 and the new one (Aug 30 2020) on Baofeng DM-5R Plus. The new version tolerates overdeviation better than the old one, but there are still some cuts when receiving such a signal. The signal had a CTCSS tone. thanks for the fix, however: We tested on new radios, same t...

Re: Upgrading the flash chip
In a perfect world all of the DMR networks would support Talker Alias, but that is sadly not the case. Now if Pi-Star had the ability to inject TA data into the DMR stream, that would be a great help. My openSPOT2 does this, but it's no use on the air on the C-bridge network here in the Pacific Nor...

Re: DCS audio cuts out
I reworked Riku's patch and submitted it again as https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/OpenGD77/pull/727 There are builds for GD-77 and DM1801 if people want to see if it helps (based on the development branch). If it does help alleviate this problem, please comment on GitHub if you can, or here i...

Re: DCS audio cuts out
Riku, It looks like the problem with your pull request was that you also had some translation changes in there as well, and that translation change includes a merge error. If you separate out your squelch fix and send a new pull request I imagine it could be accepted. I've wondered if it makes sense...

Yes, that's one of the two documents I referred to, and I said they're based on the stock firmware.

Re: Read/write GD-77 codeplug in Linux in Python 3 (experimental)
I'll probably have to look into the firmware or the CPS tool to figure out the format and semantics of fields. Any pointers are appreciated (except for NULL). Go to http://members.optuszoo.com.au/jason.reilly1/GD77mods.htm and look for "codeplug map". It's not perfect, and it's based on the stock f...

Re: Now have a bricked jumbosopt.
Bricked usually isn't permanent. There's probably a way to get it into a bootloader mode so you can reload the firmware. This isn't the right forum to get help with that though.

Calibrating Power?
Is there a guide describing how to calibrate power levels?
And are there relatively inexpensive tools to measure RF power that people like?
There's a repeater around 8km away that I allegedly hit really well when my radio says it's at 50mW so I'm wondering if my calibration is off.
