Ok I want to use the tyt9600 as a hotspot, my only question is the a specific cable from the mic plug to the raspberry board or do I just use the programming cable to plug into the raspberry, like u do in the MD uv380

Nevermind i found it

I just loaded the opengd77 in my mduv380 and 9600 is there a away to scan the zone with button press or do I have to shut radio off and turn it back on to used the scan feature

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, but I am going to call r and l electronic when I bought it and see what they say

I have tried adjusting the squelch only way i can hear the repeater is to have the squelch wide open,so i am guessing this radio has a hardware issue, and is still under warrenty

I just bought 2 uv380 and was wondering if it has a hotspot mode like the opengd77, I use 2 gd77 as hotspots and they work great when I need to use it like that, and if it does do I just keep the pi-star set to opengd77 as the modem

I am using open gd77 as a hotspot, and when I talking out of nowhere the hotspot goes dead as soon as I rekey all is good this all happens in about a minute time
