Re: ALPHA TYT MD-UV380 / RT-3S Installation information
Unfortunately, "the best possible results" does not equal to a good reception - it's literally the best you can get from this hardware, and it's still awful due to extremely poor RT3s GPS antenna design. As for indoor GPS reception - it might work sometimes, but performance will be severely degraded...

Re: ALPHA TYT MD-UV380 / RT-3S Installation information
The GPS sensitivity is also very bad. Even in you wait for a fix with the GPS outside, when you take the radio indoors the GPS no longer has enough signals to function. The sensitivity is so bad because of poor GPS antenna design. The antenna is placed near the speaker facing the front, not upwards...

Re: Baeofeng 1701/1702
Its a completely different radio to the DM1801 The hardware of DM-1702 is quite different from DM-1801 - but it's very similar to RT-3s: STM32F405VGT6, HRC6000, AT1846S. So I hope it will be possible to port opengd77 to this radio some time in the future. DM-1702 and DM-X are basically the same rad...

Re: M17 open-source, DMR-like
Kai and I did consider including the Codec2 codec in the OpenGD77, but it would then be incompatible with other DMR radios and there would not be enough space in the ROM to include both the Codec2 and AMBE codec. It's quite an old post and many things are changed since then. Now firmware loader ext...

Re: XLX reflectors on DMR (Brandmeister)
XLX reflectors is a completely separate system, which has nothing to do with Brandmeister. Call routing from your radio to XLX or to BM is made in the hotspot, usually by means of DMRgateway - so double-check your hotspot settings first. You could also play with hotspot firmware versions - i.e. bran...

Re: Hotspot mode, what is it, do I need to use it.
So it appears you are saying that the GD77 firmware shifts the calibration of the transceiver? I would be interested in what calibration changes you had to make? I had to re-calibrate "Reference oscillator tuning" parameter. In my case it was -15 before, and now it's -63. Other parameters are left ...

Re: Hotspot mode, what is it, do I need to use it.
If you read my post fully you would have read that I have calibrated the hotspot. Have you calibrated the hotspot to exactly match your particular radio? It means nothing if you calibrated the hotspot with another radio. ADF7021-based hotspots have no RX AFC, so even 100-200hz uncompensated offset ...

Re: roaming feature on gd77
To put in in very simple terms, the way MotoTRBO radio does it is that it scans the repeaters in the roaming list for the best signal, and then park the active channel on that repeater until it is no longer the best, as it continues to scan. The way Anytone does it is that it "kerchunks" the repeat...

Re: DMR inband position transmit
I am not advocating anything. I was trying to further explaining things as much as I understand it. Long story short, I don't really care. Well, something was probably lost in translation as I'm not native English speaker - but I'm not opposing you as you might think. Moreover, I thought about the ...
