A flawless firmware upgrade here too, using the new CPS in a Win10 VirtualBox VM on Ubuntu.
Congrats to Roger and the gang for navigating through the licencing minefield and coming out the other side with all feet still attached and a will to continue with the project.
Many thanks.

Re: OpenGD77 CPS download location changed
I used qdmr to read the codeplug from my GD77 running OpenGD77. I haven't tried uploading it yet, as I have no changes to make, but it looks promising. I haven't yet ascertained whether there are significant differences with respect to the OpenGD77 CPS, but it might be worth a try. https://dm3mat.da...

Re: Licence change?
Did the project acquire the non-GPLv2 compliant non-commercial restriction, i.e. this bit This software is licensed under the GPL v2 and is intended for Amateur Radio and educational use only. Use of this software for commercial purposes is strictly forbidden. because of re-use of source code from M...

Re: Recent versions of firmware will be removed
I don't think it is fair to attack Andrew, KC7RBW, in this fashion. He is acting reasonably in his request for the GPLv2 source code to be made freely available. That is the reason for the GPL to exist in the first place. It is important for software developers to understand their rights and obligat...

Re: Recent versions of firmware will be removed
Just for clarification, does this mean that the CPS will no longer be able to download and install new releases of the firmware from this moment onwards? Does it mean that there will be no new versions of the firmware? I'm not quite sure I understand how this is playing out.

Re: Recent versions of firmware will be removed
I wonder if Bruce Perens, K6BP, might be able to help you figure out a way forward with the licencing.

Re: Licence change?
If the code is no longer "contaminated" (i don't like using that word, but it is obvious what it means) by code released under the GPL, then perhaps it could be relicensed under the Creative Commons Non-Commercial Share-Alike licence:

Re: Complete Corresponding Source Code (GPLv2 Section 3)
I can't and won't argue with anything that you have said there. Your assessment of the nature of the metaphorical sleepings dogs is hopefully spot on. I hadn't appreciated that you had contributed to OpenGD77 under the GPL2 yourself and thank you for your work. My piss/chips analogy seems to fail in...
