Re: RT3S calling itself, DMR ID Doubled
I have seen a few times upgrades apparently change the format of the code plug in memory. I had to reset, then load the code plug fresh. Not just this radio - happened to my Anytone and my K5.

Re: How to search posts
I guess the best way to search is to ask the question and hope someone sends a link to the previous thread discussing the same issue.
I assume there's no way to allow a common.word mixed with a less common word, or maybe multiple short acronyms.

How to search posts
I'm not a new member, but not up to speed on this site. Frequently people are chastised for asking a question someone asked a few years ago. They are told to use search to find previous posts. However in my experience this is not possible . For example I was trying to find posts about the DR-1801 an...

Re: Slow GPS on Retevis RT3S
I have had good luck with the GPS in my RT3S. Even indoors I get a lock within 10 minutes. Reception is best if you lay it flat, display up.

Re: Retevis RT3 - timeout when keying in DMR
According to Repeaterbook that repeater uses color code 1, not 8.

Re: New Beta version 2023 02 25
New beta works fine on the V5 9600 with GPS I bought a couple of weeks ago. Serial number is 2010A018xx if that helps identify new vs old chips. Mine reports the STM CPU. Also works great as a hotspot.

Re: Beta version 2023 02 25
Thanks! This version also works great. And it confirms my suspicions that my RT3S - bought last week from Amazon and made in 12/2022 according to the sticker - does have the "TYT" chip. I'm working on the complete set - have the GD77, MD-9600 GPS and RT3S GPS all working on openGD now. Craig - N6IO

Re: FM APRS function
I have the Anytone 878UV plus and recently upgraded it to receive APRS by installing a new Bluetooth board that includes hardware to decode the APRS data. Sending APRS is trivial and requires very little processing power. But decoding the tones requires a lot more processing which is why AnyTone off...

Re: Hello and where to start?
I wouldn't spend more than an hour or less playing with the stock firmware on your new GD-77. I also had an Anytone 878, then got the GD-77. Any time spent playing with the factory firmware is a waste of time. The keyboard navigation is very different from the 878 and very different from OpenGD77. I...

Re: Implementing some missing features
Which power level? Well for me the two obvious ones would be lowest possible for low - for use with your hotspot - and the highest typical level which would be 4w for use with an actual repeater (not 5W). Bonus points for allowing a setting for what is low and what is high, but lowest and highest wo...
