Update 6th March Version 2
Re: Update 6th March Version 2
Hi All,
As a new member on this forum I confirm the background interference in the transmitted voice of Ari's OH7FES DMR transmissions. The frequency of the pulse interference is about the same as in the DMR modulation (abt. 17 Hz).
Is it possible to insert a recorded sample on this forum or should I try to find another location?
PS. My own GD77 is on it's way to enter here next week.

I'll produce a version with a much higher PWM freq and see if that helps

Anyway, here is the recorded and cropped & normalized sound clip, http://139.162.159.150/audio-sample/gd7 ... erence.mp3 A short clip is twice on this audio file. The interference is that pulsed sound which is as louder as brighter the backlight is set.
Edit: The original recording is this http://139.162.159.150/audio-sample/200304_0074.mp3

That sound is not the frequency of the PWM
I've attached version which uses 100kHz PWM, but I doubt it will make any difference

Re: Update 6th March Version 2
That sounds like it could be a bad ground connection between the radio and the front panel. I would try reconnecting the cables.

Ok well watch for your email with instructions

After updating the firmware I have a message on my screen that says '`Flash Mem Error" with the radio on or off and I can not load anything or get rid of the error message nor do anything at this point? any ideas?
I think I know whats wrong.
Your radio probably had invalid calibration data, which would also explain why its never worked that well
I'll email you, so that you can backup your Flash memory and email it to me
Re: Update 6th March Version 2
Ok.
I think your radio has a hardware fault, but I will need to change the the firmware so that PWM is only used if users select dimming.

You radio had an invalid byte in the calibration data header. I don't think it would have worked at all with the official firmware.
I've emailed you an updated flash backup file, which should fix this problem
Re: Update 6th March Version 2
Thank you, I have not seen it yet but will be watching for it. Thank
