Trying out this experimental version. I see the RSSI bar moving even when in digital mode. Is this by design?

What happens when you switch to FM ?

Does the RSSI bar appear the same ? What level do you have the squelch set to ?

FM squelch set to 45%. When I switch to FM mode, the RSSI becomes higher.

Because people with mulitmode hotspots need to know if their hotspot is transmitting even if its on another mode.

Technically there is a signal present, so the RSSI bar should be showing that, even if its not a DMR signal.

I could change the code to prevent the bar graph showing if the signal is not above the squelch threshold, but I'm not sure if its the best thing to do or not.

The other bug that I'm trying to fix is when there is a signal on the channel but its not DMR, in this case the LED will turn on if the signal is above the squelch threshold.

I wonder if this is decodeing worse than before or whether its just that you can now see its not decoding when it should be decoding.

If you switch to FM mode and close the squelch , the LED should go out

I can't see another good way to do this, apart from to use some arbitrary value as the minimum signal level, but that doesn't seem like a good idea, as everyone has a different amount of background signal level.

yes the led does extinguish in fm mode, but never goes out in dmr mode, even with squelch set at 100% in fm, switching to dmr its constantly on

Can you try this version. Its using the default squelch settings for the band and won't use the custom settings for the channel.

Can you also look at your default squelch levels in the Options menu.

I think the custom squelch "OpenGD77 squelch Level" on your DMR channel(s), must be set to something like "Open"

This kinda makes sense, because on DMR it doesnt use squelch in the squelch in the conventional way. The DMR is constantly sent the audio from the RF chip, ie fully open squelch, and it decides when there is a DMR signal.
