Unable to read/program GD-77 using OpenGD77 firmware

Post by ok2zar » Mon Nov 18, 2019 12:26 am

Hi guys,

I'm unable to read/program radio running OpenGD77 firmware using comunity CPS. Anytime when go to Extras - OpenGD77 support got message "Please connect GD77 radio and try again". Radio is normaly detected on virtual port COM18 and flashing firmware works fine as well as programing radio using original FW.

Did you install the device driver ?

The OpenGD77 is a com device so that it can connect to PiStar etc to act as a hotspot

Check the device manager that you have a com device called OpenGD77

If thats present, try another USB port on your PC

PS. You said "Virtual", are you using Windows ? On mine it reads "OpenGD77 (COM71)" , your "COM" number will be different

I presume you are using the latest Community CPS ?

What message do you get ?

What OS are you using ? Windows 10 ?

It is possible to downgrade to the official firmare
then load the codeplug
then reload the openGD77 firmware.

But the CPS does work with the OpenGD77

Can you try another USB socket on your PC

Sometimes the first time it is not detected.

Also did you try to reboot the PC

I usnig WIN10 64, testing 3 USB connect, new start PC,
with oficial firmware make OK no problem - read cable, read codeplug, ID on trx take possible write on trx. Problem is with Open firmware, usaly open firmware in trx not connect trx with CPS.

Open firmware is OK soft and nice using, it is comfort for user. Thanks for work on this open firmware mr. Clark. Very best!

I will have to modify the CPS to allow the user to choose the Com port if the CPS can't automatically find it

Try this version

I added a menu to select the OpenGD77 if it can automatically find it

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1kzPgR ... dFFCaj-O-O

Please tell me what options are listed for you and whether selecting the OpenGD77 port works
