Also keep in mind that the GD-77 in VHF although it seems to have an excellent sensitivity actually has a bad filtering, and therefore as soon as you connect it to an external antenna the radio becomes deaf. I have carried out comparative tests between ID-51, D878 and GD-77 and you can see how the GD-77 is unusable under an external antenna (at least in a large metropolitan city where I live)

Same thing for me on 2M. There seems to be a lot of local QRM, hence the hotspot works better on 70cm, even though in theory the range should be less.
