I can receive fine now. All the static talkgroups I installed on the BM webpage work. But I can't talk. No one responds and the Parrot site sends nothing back.
Roger is this the symptom that caused you to state that your DM-1801 does not work through a hotspot. I am using the same MMDVM hat as you did.

It would be simpler for us if you can upload your codeplug here, plus your mmdvm and dmrgateway ini files (or send me privately your pistar backup for the latest).

Cheers.

thanks Daniel,
Here is my latest codeplug attached. I am not sure how to get the ini files you want but here are some screen shots of my Pi-Star config.

Well it won't let me upload the jpg images.

Cheers

Thanks. For the Pi-Star, go in "Configuration" -> "Backup/Restore", then just click the huge icon "Download Configuration".

Cheers.

I cleaned a bit the codeplug.
I will check you Pi-Star config when you will send it, probably tomorrow then, as it turns 23h here.

Cheers.

Pi-Star config
Okay. So, I just checked your Pi-Star configuration and there is something wrong here.
You have defined a Dual hotspot, but the offset is wrong
RXFrequency=441999999
TXFrequency=442000000

For this kind of Dual board you own, you need to set, at least, an offset of 5MHz. So choose some frequency matching the bandplan.

Next, in the CPS (using the codeplug I posted here), in the "Hotspot" channel, put the same RX/TX frequencies as you defined on your hotspot.

Your main problem is you have set your hotspot as a Dual (repeater mode), and the channel on your 1801 as Simplex, that's two different animals, hence your 1801 can listen to it, but it won't connect for TXing.

Cheers.

AH, thanks so much. The example I was following was a simplex hat. I'll give it a try and see if it does the job.
I worked on it all day today so I really appreciate you taking the time to look at it.

I did try your codeplug but it did not work. I was not able to receive anything. Your settings were listening to TG91 which I don't have as a static group in my hotspot config on BrandMeister but I changed it to USA 3100, which I do have on TS1 and it still did not work.

But it may all be related to the rxtx offset.

Cheers

I was under the impression that the MMDVM_HS_Dual word "dual" meant the hat supported both ts1 and ts2 timeslots but I realize now it must mean that it is duplex rather than simplex, hence the need for two separate RX TX freq but it does appear to support both timeslots. So is that correct or does the fact that I am trying to use both timeslots also cause problems?

Thanks again.

The Dual hotspot supports both timeslots, on the simplex ones, only TS2 is usable.

The main problem is (even with your original codeplug), your Dual hotspot has a tiny offset, and that's bad, and your MD-1801 has none of the 442MHz channels set as Duplex, all of them are Simplex.
So it can't connect your Dual hotspot.

You need to define an offset, the recommended minimum value is 5MHz.

Also, remember, the OpenGD77 uses TG List, that mean you only need to have one channel per frequency, the TG list supersede the "Contact" parameter. Then, on your 1801, you select the correct channel in the Zone (Up/Down key), and the contact in the TG List (Left/Right key, or direct entry using the '#' key).
I've also noticed you set the TXOffset/RXOffset to zero (in the MMDVMHost config file), did you calibrated the board using MMDVMCal (pistar-mmdvmcal on the Pi-Star) ?

Cheers.
