Does anyone know if DMR data includes the time ?
It seems to be a crazy omission, but as far as I can tell the DMR data protocol does not seem to include the actual time e.g. in UTC of the data.
I guess they didn't want to send any unnecessary information which would take extra RF bandwidth, but it would only need to be sent periodically e.g perhaps once per minute.
I think Talker Alias can send GPS data, but I think this is just the position and not the time
Knowing the actual time, could be quite handy for a lot of things including satellite operation, but I guess for satellite ops the location is equally important, but location is not likely to change substantially.
[Solved] Does anyone know if DMR data includes the time ?
Re: Does anyone know if DMR data includes the time ?
Hi Roger,
I have never seen anything in the specs regarding time. So I am pretty sure it is not sent anywhere.
Colin.
