I repeat. To get started. I have seen this referenced in Forum, but not linked.

Can someone please point me to where I can get latest CPS and Firmware for DM-1801? The DM-1801 I got came with no software.

Thanks, Dave

Maybe I'm just too opaque, but I don't see what I am looking for, or maybe I wasn't clear enough:

I received a DM-1801 without a file for the existing firmware from BaoFeng that's in the radio. I'd rather not start fooling around with OpenGD77 until I have a way of restoring the BaoFeng firmware in case I get into trouble. What I am looking for is a link to the latest BaoFeng DM-1801 firmware to load with the BaoFeng installer.

Are you pointing to that? Or, are you saying that I can download the existing firmware with OpenGD77 software? Or, are you saying something else?

Thanks, Dave

You could take a look in this github issue

https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/ ... /issues/14

Where someone has referenced https://radio.denied.org.ua/index.php?d ... 20DM-1801/

I've no idea where the latest firmware from Baofeng is, because AFIK their official site doesn't have a link to a firmware download.

Thanks Ken.

Last time I Googled for it, there wasnt any firmware on Baofeng's site and I presumed K7DCJ had already googled for it.

Is the DM-5R Tier 1 ?

Any idea what hardware it uses.

hi, its the original release which is not even T1, weird vocoder firmware, alas i have no idea what is inside, there was a brief 'paid' update available to change the vocoder but i missed it, and its not available now, its probably only good for fm now lol

its explained here > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m14v6h2h_B0

Ken.

I've started a thread about the DM-5R and RD-5R, you never know it may be possible to run the OpenGD77 on both of these, but I've heard that the DMR chip is a C5000 in these radios not a C6000 and I don't know if there is any function difference between them.
