[Proposal] Remove unsupported screens from the OpenGD77 CPS

Post by VK3KYY » Tue Dec 31, 2019 9:27 pm

I think there is now some confusion with the OpenGD77 CPS because it has screens e.g. the ScanList and the BasicInformation and the Signalling System etc which are not currently supported (and may never be supported) by the OpenGD77 firmware

I think perhaps I should remove these unsupported elements from the OpenGD77 CPS to save confusion.
I'd do this simply by not making them visible in the CPS, as to completely remove them from the CPS code would cause more problems.

I also think that it will remove the confusion when writing a code plug !!

(Another hour before next year in France....)

Great idea, Roger. That would clean things up in the CPS.

Happy New Year (almost) from Colorado.

Hi,

Yeah, if it's confusing and unnecessary, it would be great to bury it.

Happy New Year.

Cheers.

Sounds like a good idea Roger. To be honest, it is now so easy to program the GD77 that streamlining and simplifying the CPS makes good sense, especially for new users.

73 and Happy New Year to you! Rob W1AEX
