Hi,

I don't see the reason to use a lot of storage space (and it won't fit anyway) for something you see, maybe, once a day. It's just eye-candy.
Plus, now you can define background and foreground colours.

Cheers.

It may us the sane amount of memory than currenty do... Isn't it?

Anyway, users may have the freedom to choose what they want to store at the equipment...

Monochrome image is 1 bit per pixel, colour screen needs 16 bits per pixel.

This requires 16 X more storage than the current image.

Yep... 16Kb.

How much space uses the original FW for this?
... let me guess... 16Kb.

This could be done in the same way as with VP.
Let users decide what they want...
Colour image or space for other use (Contacts, Codeplug,...)

If the problem is lack of space 'cause FW needs it, I have nothing to say.
If not... Makes no sense to limit users' colour experience.

Next request: animated GIF.

It's a transceiver, not a media player.
About storage, it's not the same location as VP, etc, it's part of the codeplug (and the bloody space is limited, would you like to drop any feature to put a bloody picture you see 3 seconds when you power on your transceiver (only the times you look at it)?

Seriously?

No.

I don't say I want to drop festures.

I only ask if those devices are so short of memory to don't have room for this.

If OGD77 needs the memory, let's forget the colour image.
If does not. Why not a colour image?

Hi,
For the very last time, bootimage is part of the codeplug. The area where boot image, melody keps and theme is almost full.
This isn't like the dmrid database, which is stored outside the codeplug.

BTW, you can notice the bootimage on such Anytone AT-D878UVxxxx... It takes so long to boot.

Cheers.
